We are Preston and Brittney Clark. We travel with our three kids, Eden, Hyrum, and Emerson, and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Lady. We homeschool. Right now home is Roatán, an island off the north coast of Honduras, which we reached by driving a small SUV overland through Mexico and Guatemala.

Before that we lived full time in an RV for a year and a half, working our way through the American West. That chapter ended when both our truck and trailer were totaled. We did not plan the next chapter so much as land in it.

The reason we live this way is our middle son. Hyrum has autism, with a profile that runs on autonomy and comes with high support needs. Conventional life was not built for him, and the usual resources did not fit. So we started making different choices, and we kept the ones that worked. Where we go, how long we stay, and how we judge a place all come back to what works for him.

This blog is where we write down what we have learned, for three groups of families: families with autism, RV families, and families who travel and school on the road. A post is for at least one of those groups, written plainly enough that you can use it. If you want the feelings behind the trips, we write those separately on our Substack, Yol Bolsun.

We are not a travel brand. We are a family that writes things down.
